How the AlkaStream Works

The AlkaStream maintains pH and ORP through natural ionization using the proprietary media in the filter.

Water is first filtered before encountering a layer of Magnesium. The hydrogen/oxygen bond is broken due to the stronger attraction of oxygen to Magnesium. The result is free Hydrogen. This hydrogen creates the negative electric charge (ORP) and gives the AlkaStream water its antioxidant capability. Having an abundance of free Hydrogen available to link up with damaging free radicals gives our body a layer of protection.

pH Levels
During extensive testing, AlkaStream consistently improved the pH of many different source waters (ranging from
5.5 - 8.0 ) to higher levels between 9.0 - 9.5. This is the recommended range we need to drink.

ORP Levels
The AlkaStream has achieved over -350 mv change in ORP. Results will change depending on your own source water.

Source water is the most critical variable to ionizer performance and can cause wide-ranging ORP measurements. Yet most ionizers only do a mediocre, at best, job of filtering, especially for things like VOCs, pesticides, and fluoride. If they do, it's a costly addition not included in the advertised ionizer price.

Laboratory Tested Filter Performance

Filter Life

An AlkaStream filter will last 6 months - depending, as always, on water conditions. When the filter is replaced (a 3 minute job) your AlkaStream returns to full filtration, pH and ORP power. Please note that filter life always depends on input water quality.

The AlkaStream has as its first stage, a ceramic membrane that halts sediment entry. Most filters simply let it in and replace the filter when flow slows up due to accumulated sediment. The AlkaStream filter can be removed and 'sanded' down with the included cleansing sheet to remove all sediment and restore flow.
