Will I need a plumber?
No, this can be done by the average person who has little or no plumbing experience.
How long will it take to install?
Usually in about 20minutes without pre-filters and 45minutes with pre-filters.
Will I need any additional parts in order to install my Toyo Water Ionizer?
About 10% of all faucets do not have the standard screw thread that will fit the faucet diverter that comes with Toyo Water Ionizers. The ionizer also come with one or two faucet adapters for common size faucet. If you find the Toyo faucet diverter or the adapters not able to fit your tap faucet, note what kind of faucet you have and take the Toyo faucet adapter to any hardware store and they will have the necessary parts you will need.
What kind of warranty does the Water Ionizer have on it?
The Toyo Marvello and Masterpiece come with a Two Years Warranty.

I hooked everything up correctly and no water will come out the silver tube. What is the problem?
Open the panel on the left side of the ionizer unit and be sure the filter is properly seat by turning it clockwise. This is the only reason why water would not come out of the unit unless something such as packaging material is blocking one of the tubes.
I hooked everything up correctly, plugged in the unit and turned on the water. The water comes out but the lights don't come on. What is the problem?
Check the fuse in back of the Toyo Water Ionizer. That is most likely the problem since Toyo Water Ionizers are extremely reliable and have less the a 1% failure rate. The fuse is a standard 4 amp fuse obtainable at any electronics store. The water ionizer comes with a spare fuse.
The water came out dark the first time it ran through the Toyo Water Ionizer. Is that normal?
That is what is called "fine" coming off the carbon in the filter and it is normal. It will clear up within the first few seconds of use.
How often do I have to change the internal filter?
There is a filter life counter displayed on the front of the machine. If the counter shows ‘9999’ it is time to change the internal filter. The main purpose of the carbon filter is to remove chlorine, which means the filter is designed to be used with municipal water. How often the filter should be changed depends amount of water consumed and on how much chlorine there is in your municipal water. If there is a lot of chlorine in the water, the filter should be changed once a year based on average of 4 person to a household. The carbon filter will also remove other unwanted elements found in drinking water such as VOCs (benzene, trihalomethanes, etc).
How do I change the filter?
To change the filter simply open the filter door by pressing the side (left side), press the filter down (this is a spring pop-in pop-out mechanism) and the filter will pop out. ( Note : Do not throw away the plastic plate base on which the filter sits). Pop in the new filter (remember to remove safety plastic tabs on both end of the new filter). Run the water through the water ionizer and while the water is running press the white button (located on top of the filter) to initialize or reset the filter life counter to zero.
Why does the unit play music?
Toyo Ionizer either beeps (for Masterpiece) or plays music with voice instruction (for Mavello) when it is either in self-cleaning mode or if you made a selection for acid water. When the music or beep is on acid water is coming out of the silver tube. The unit goes into self-cleaning mode when you switch on unit initially or after a power cut and when it detects that the electrodes in the water cell has coating of calcium minerals. This self-cleaning mode is automatic. Self-cleaning dramatically extends the use of the electrodes. Do not drink the water from the Toyo Water Ionizer when it is cleaning mode. Is there any way to turn off the music that plays on the Toyo Water Ionizer?
No, there is not. The music plays as a safety precaution warning you not to drink the water while the unit is cleaning because acid water should never be consumed. (It is all right to brush your teeth or gargle with, but not to drink.) You may increase or lower the volume of the music or voice instruction by adjusting the lever at the back of the unit. However, you may manually override the cleaning process by pushing the pH button on the unit. This will cancel the cleaning mode and immediately return the unit to regular Ionization mode. How much water should I drink and at what level when I first get the Toyo Water Ionizer?
This will depend partly on what kind of shape you are in physically when you initially start drinking Ionized Water. For instance, if you have made a conscious effort to eat well and keep your body detoxified you can start drinking Ionized Water at higher levels 4 or 5.
However, if you have been on medication for some time, or have had a poor diet of fast food, processed food, or a diet void of fresh fruits and vegetables, you may need to begin drinking Ionized Water on Level 2. Start by drinking an 8 oz. glass of water slowly. If you do not feel any negative effects, try another glass later in the day. If you are fine with that, move up to the next level. The higher level you drink the alkaline water the better it is for you because your body pH can be balanced faster with stronger detoxification and also the water has stronger anti-oxidant property

Where does the Toyo Water Ionizer hook up?
At any sink in the house or at work. It comes with a diverter that is easily installed on any standard sink faucet. The ionizer also need a power point near to the sink area. Does the ionizer have a built in Carbon Filter?
Yes it does. It is granulated carbon, which is very effective at removing chlorine from municipal water source. I am concerned about my water supply. What effect will this have on the Water Ionizer?
The only thing to be concerned about is chlorine. Chlorine can easily be removed with the carbon filter. For area where the municipal water source contains lots of sediments we recommend the use of pre-filters to remove these heavy sediments. If need be we can provide a twin pre-filters with housing and this is connected to the tap faucet (via the faucet adapter) before the water ionizer (refer to Product/Mavello/DIY Install). The first pre-filter is a standard one particulate filter which is inexpensive and easily replaced, and the second a higher quality one micron particulate filter. This will greatly improve you water supply quality and will help extend the life of your ionizer filter. Why do some people get headaches and diarrhea when they first drink this water?
The Ionization process creates water molecule clusters that are half the size of regular water molecule clusters. This is why Ionized Water is sometimes referred to as "reduced water" because it has become reduced in size from a 12 water molecule cluster to 6 water molecule cluster. This makes the water much more hydrating because it flows through our body tissue more easily, thus pushing toxins out of our system. It is this detoxifying effect that sometimes gives people headaches and diarrhea. Having 5 levels of pH allows a more gradual detoxification process. What should I expect from drinking Ionized Water?
